Over the years, wherever his travels took him, and on occasion this included international destinations, he always headed back to the family sweet shop in Shibamata with no real prior warning to let the folks at home know he was on his way. Even today the ‘dango’ his family supposedly sold remain a popular local souvenir for visitors to the area and locals alike.
